Strangely enough, making a small marine aquarium is easier than a small fresh water one. The balance in the aquarium is established more quickly and, for some reason, more easily. Here are photos of the aquarium taken at different intervals over several years. For several years, the owner’s aquarium, under my guidance, pleased him immensely.
The aquarium — Aqua Medic Yasha — is just under 40 liters.
The lighting — at first, there was a built-in Aqua Medic light, but those were very weak lights, so I replaced them with more powerful compact fluorescent lights from Aquael. That made it brighter, but not as good. Then, a professional diode light of Giesemann was installed, and everything has been much better ever since. In the photos, you can see the corals under Giesemann’s light (which seems to be a Teszla light, but they don’t make those anymore, it’s been too long).
Basis: live rocks from LFS.
Ground: Dennerle nano aquarium sand.
Water: RO water from Dennerle.
Salt: Red Sea Coral Pro salt, salting with a hydrometer.
Water changes: 30 to 40% every week — and that was all the maintenance.
Additional supplements: something I use Chemipure elite.
Skimmer — the Aqua Medic Turboflotor Blue 500 — was placed behind the false wall;
